Ads are how the free tier stays free. This page lists every third-party SDK our apps ship, what each one receives, and how to opt out.
1. The ads we show
- Banner — a small ad at the edge of some screens.
- Interstitial — a full-screen ad shown occasionally between actions, never in the middle of a conversation you are writing.
- Rewarded — entirely optional. You choose to watch it, and you receive credits for finishing it. Declining costs you nothing but the credits.
Ads are served by Google AdMob. We do not choose which ad you see, we do not receive your personal data from advertisers, and we do not sell ad space directly. Apps sold as ad-free, or a subscription tier that removes ads, state so on the purchase screen.
2. What AdMob receives
To serve and measure an ad, the AdMob SDK processes your advertising identifier (a resettable ID provided by your device), coarse device and app information, and your IP address, from which an approximate region can be inferred. We ask for no location permission and pass no conversation content, no attachments and no account data to any advertiser.
Google acts as an independent controller for its advertising services, not merely as our processor. Its handling is described in the Google Privacy & Terms.
3. Every third-party SDK we ship
| SDK | Purpose | Receives |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Banner, interstitial and rewarded ads | Advertising ID, device/app info, IP |
| Firebase Analytics | Which features are used, in aggregate | Installation ID, event names, device info |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reports so we can fix failures | Device model, OS version, stack traces |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging | Push notifications, if you allow them | Push token |
| Google Play Billing | Purchases and subscriptions | Handled entirely by Google; we see only the confirmation |
Server-side we also use OpenRouter, OpenAI and DigitalOcean Spaces. Those are processors acting on our instructions and are described in the Privacy Policy; none of them receives advertising data.
4. Consent in the EU/EEA and UK
Where the law requires it, a consent message appears before personalised ads are served, and you can choose non-personalised ads instead. Non-personalised ads still require a request to Google’s servers, so contextual and limited technical data is still processed to fill and measure the slot. You can change your choice at any time from the app’s privacy or settings screen.
5. Opting out
- Android — Settings › Google › Ads › Delete advertising ID (stops apps receiving one) or Reset advertising ID.
- iOS — Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, and turn off “Allow Apps to Request to Track”.
- In-app — where a consent message applies, reopen it from settings and withdraw consent.
- Remove ads — where an ad-free purchase or subscription tier is offered in the app, buying it removes banner and interstitial ads. Rewarded ads remain available by choice, because they grant credits.
Opting out of personalisation does not reduce the number of ads, only their relevance.
6. Children and ads
Our apps are not directed to children. Where an app is served to a user in a jurisdiction requiring child-directed treatment, ad requests are tagged accordingly and personalised advertising is disabled for that request.
7. Reporting a bad ad
If you see an ad that is deceptive, adult, distressing or broken, screenshot it and email bilisamweb@gmail.com. Include the app and the time. We forward it to Google and can block the advertiser category.
